Garmin GPS18 USB, not so easy
I bought a Garmin GPS18 USB unit the other day on eBay for about 10 bucks (USB attached GPS, no screen, so you need software), but it is not the most user friendly device. Apparently there are standard NMEA 0183 sentences, but the Garmin GPS18 USB doesn't use them. I tried to talk to the device using GPSGate and some other random GPS software but the device isn't outputting good GPS data.
At this point I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if the thing is broken.
I am going to try out the Garmin GPS SDK to see if I can talk to it, but I don't have great hope for success there either...
